Can I get a student loan or allowance to help finance my studies?

Yes. The Certificate in Radio Broadcasting offered by the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic is a full time programme and is approved for the payment of student allowances and student loans.

How do the students study and run SUB 88.3FM?

Classes and work shops are held three times a week from 9-3pm, the remaining two days in the week are for students to apply what they have learnt in class time in the day to day running of the station.

Is SUB 88.3FM a real radio station?

SUB88.3FM broadcasts twenty four hours a day seven days a week and can be heard from Papamoa to Te Puna, all the software programmes taught as those found in any commercial radio station in New Zealand any many other countries. The station uses industry standard equipment and prides itself on it’s technical relevance and operation management.

Who runs SUB 88.3FM?

Radio students take full responsilbility for the running of the station,  they organise the announcer shifts, collect news and weather information, write and produce radio commercials, organise advertising and station promotions.

Can I listen to SUB 88.3FM on the internet?

Yes, we stream live on line check us out at subfm.co.nz.  The website also incudes up to date New Zealand music news, local events, album reviews the list goes on! 

What is the qualification that students graduate with?

A Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Certificate in Radio Broadcasting (Level 4).
